Saki at the time of her departure from this earth was a 38 year old young woman, who was taken so tragically on August 1, 2014. Dedicated single mother, hard worker and Christian. She was a mother of two children ages 10 and 22 years old. A GlamMom of 2 girls ages 1 and 2 months, a daughter, five siblings, an auntie, and a loved one to all of her family, friends and co-workers. Not to mention how she left a lasting impression or should it be said her signature smile on all who met her and knew her.
Saki was on her journey and achieved so much in her short life. Her personality was bright and embracing. Her determination and faith guided her accomplishments. In 2014 alone; Saki graduated from Delaware County Community College with studies in nursing and human services, was accepted to Drexel University with plans to attend in August of that year. As a member of the 59th Street Baptist Church, Saki served and shared her gifts on various ministries including teaching Sunday School every Sunday, vacation bible school and praise dance consultant. However, Saki was living with "The Pain Behind the Smile." A secret to many and a terror to some. She lived with this torture for over 10 years. Yes, more than a decade. Many of you ask the question "How can a beautiful, intelligent, God serving, dedicated mother and loving person subject herself to abuse?" Many still have not fully figured it out. However, knowing Saki she loved everyone without judgment. Saki had faith that he would change and can change! Just as she shared with many that knew her, "We must have faith to change and do our best." We are inspired by Saki to stop the hurt of any type of violence or emotional abuse.
